Trouble In Paradise?

When Kevin Durant first moved to Golden State, we all knew he wouldn't be here for the rest of his career. He was joining a team who already had a franchise player, the best back court in the NBA, and three all stars in the starting lineup. Not to mention this same team that he was joining had just sent 73-9 in the previous regular season, and came back to beat them in the playoffs after being down 0-2 in the series. The league-wide ridicule he would receive for this move, although very hurtful, never seemed insurmountable until a harsh set of words came from in house; Draymond Green.

Green and Durant got into a jaw-jabbing match during a timeout at the end of a game against the Clippers. What sparked this heated argument was a late-game turnover by Green, in which he dribbled up the court past Durant, ignoring his calls for the ball, proceeding to fumble the ball and turn it over. Of course, Durant had a few things to say as he headed back to the huddle, and like we've grown so used to, Green had a lot to say back. There were reports of Green calling Durant a bitch and daring him to leave in free agency, exclaiming that they won without him. Green was suspended for a game for his rude outbursts, although, the damage those words left can in no way be healed in one game.

A star of Durant's caliber in now way deserves that backlash he receives from the media, and his own teammate. Durant is well aware of this, which is why I believe he will be making a move in free agency when that time arrives. Durant is going to go where he'll be appreciated for hitting the game winning shot to win the Finals in the face of the best player of the world, and not dared to leave the second an argument surfaces.
