Business is booming in the sports market in North America, making Kyle Rosenberger’s pursuit in entering the industry that much more worth it.
Rosenberger’s world has revolved around sports for quite some time now, and things don’t look to be changing anytime soon. Stemming all the way from his recreational football play at 6 years old, to hosting his own sports talk show and playing the trumpet at HPU’s basketball games, Rosenberger has always been all about sports.
“I can’t really see myself doing anything other than being involved in sports, in some aspect. It’s just always been a part of my life. It’s all that I’ve known,” Rosenberger claimed.
Rosenberger is using his resources at HPU to bolster his opportunities in the sports industry post-graduation. He, and one of his Sports Com colleagues, host their own sports talk-show entitled “Full Court Press” on all platforms. They’ve just started their show this semester. However, they look to keep the show going throughout the remainder of their college career, airing once every week.
“I love sports radio, man. I don’t really feel like I have the face for television, anyway. I really want to get paid for doing something that I love, when I enter the real world. I’m hoping that hosting the Full Court Press will help me gain the experience that I need to be successful later on in life,” Rosenberger added.
Rosenberger’s love for sports was born in 2001, when his father bought the two of them season tickets for the Baltimore Ravens. They went to every game that season, cheering the Ravens on as Brian Billick lead the team to a 10-6 finish on the season. After speaking with Rosenberger’s father, it became clear that they share the same passion for sports.
“From the moment he could throw a ball, stand on his Pap’s lap at Ravens stadium, play T-ball and youth football he’s had a relentless competitive spirit that still fuels his passion for sports of any kind,” said Rosenberger’s father as he weighed in on his son’s love for sports.
On the other hand, Rosenberger’s mother was never that interested in sports. However, that never stopped her from supporting her son, as she was always Team Mom for Rosenberger’s Recreational team. Rosenberger and his dad always engaged in sports banter. So, in order for Rosenberger’s mom to feel apart, she had to learn the ways of football.
“Kyle’s dad had a big part in his love of sports. The constant banter between the two of them, and anyone who is up for a lively debate, shows his passion and love for all sports. I had to learn for myself over time so I could add to conversation from time to time,” added Rosenberger’s mother.
That early upbringing in M&T Bank Stadium explains Rosenberger’s favoritism when it comes to football. Although, football is his main topic of expertise, Rosenberger would like to cover all sports in his future career in sports radio.
“I feel like my knowledge of sports is broad enough that I can partake in intelligent banter about more than just football,” Rosenberger stated confidently.
Rosenberger is primed for success as he closes out the first semester of his junior year of undergraduate studies. Be on the lookout, as he may be coming to a sports talk radio station near you.
