Since Twitters creation on March 21st, 2006, the app had taken the world by storm, becoming a part of our every day lives. Social media outlets, like Twitter, have grown so rapidly in the past decade and are now serving a purpose far beyond just being a platform to communicate ideas and thoughts. Social media has begun to serve as many people's main source of news and information.

I've never been the type of person to sit down and turn on the 8 o'clock news on ABC. To me, this seems drawn out and outdated. In a fast-paced world, I need a resource that moves just as quickly as I do. Because of this, I prefer using my phone as a way to receive information.

Twitter has found a way to deliver news from a number of different networks right at your fingertips. You can now be notified about news that may be pertinent to you, simply by clicking a button to update your preferences. I am able to get news from my favorite networks such as ABC, BBC, the New York Times, and The Wall Street Journal.
