Road to Glory

For as long as I can remember, I've been all about sports. If I were to estimate the percentage of my time consumed by sports related activities as a child, I'd have to say 80%. Easily. Whether that meant watching my favorite sports team on TV, playing/practicing with my current team, or playing some sports inspired video game: I wanted all parts. As the seasons passed, I would switch off between basketball, football, and baseball. However, as I grew older and my body started to take shape, I narrowed my area of expertise down to basketball since I felt that was my best fit to play at the next level. I once dreamed of taking basketball to the highest level. However, once I realized that that was not my calling, I sat myself down and did some soul searching. I knew I wanted my profession to stay within the sports industry. I couldn't imagine myself doing anything else. Originally, my plan was to get into sportscasting once my professional career concluded, but since I don't have that opportunity, I figured I'd just dive into the sportscasting world early.

My role model, and sportscaster that I hope to one day be as entertaining as, is none other than THE Shannon Sharpe-- a name worth the mighty introduction. Sharpe's rise to fame most nearly emulate's my dreams as a child, making him an automatic favorite over other reporters such as Steven A. Smith & Skip Bayless. Sharpe's personality, social media presence, and sports expertise has catapulted him to a top tier TV personality. Just to think, he started at one of the smaller HBCU's as a Division II athlete, and is now a Pro Football Hall of Fame inductee and a well respected sports broadcaster. With God on my side, a steady work ethic, and my unique personality, I know I can achieve accolades of the same, or even higher degree.
