These videos were very informative and aided my understanding of the Supreme Court and its functions a great deal. The members of the Supreme Court hold some of the most important, stressful, and time demanding jobs in America; which is why it is no shock to me that each member is appointed by the President. Although, holding one of these positions is a rigorous task, the average time spent in office as a chief justice is 16 years. Often times, justices serve twice as long as that, far outlasting the President that appointed them in the first place.

In the video, they spoke on how most justices don't get acclimated to the job until they are about 3-5 years in. If I had to deal with on average 7,000 cases per year and 100 new cases per week, it would take me much longer than a few years to get a swing of things, so that was no surprise to me. Although, each chief justice does have a team of clerks to help them out. I could never hold one of those positions, though. My patience capacity is far too low for their responsibilities. Cases can be open for months on end! I know that may be necessary, because each case deserves 100% attention, because each decision they make effects hundreds of lives.I just don't think I'd be able to deal with dozens of revisions sent in by different people, and have to read through and reason with all of them to come to a final decision. Hats off to all those who work on and under the Supreme Court.
